Coca-Cola Ghost Sign. Marfa, Texas

Coca Cola Ghost Sign. Marfa, Texas.

I saw this old Coca-Cola ghost sign at the corner of E. Texas St and Highland Ave in downtown Marfa, right across from the Hotel Paisano.

This circle-type logo is a classic design first introduced in the 1930s and used well into the 1960s, although I’ve struggled to find another example with a hot air balloon in it. To the left of the balloon it would once have read “drink”. Below the main logo there may have been space for the text “delicious and refreshing.”
